The gorgeous Naked 3 palette!

Oh la la! It's been a while since I've fallen in love with an eyeshadow palette. So like everyone else I got a little to excited when hearing that Urban Decay were releasing the third edition in the Naked series. Now since I lived in little ole' Tasmania back then it took a lot longer for this precious palette to land on my doorstep- hence the fact that I am slightly behind everyone else on reviewing this beauty. But if your still on the fence about wether or not you really need another palette hanging on your makeup counter {Who am I kidding, it's never about need more like I want this now and I will cry if I don't get it}  maybe this will help you make up your mind!

So safe to say over the last few weeks this has made itself at home on my plastic creates that are doubling as my makeup dresser. Classy I know! But I just haven't gotten around to going out and getting a new dresser! Okay, enough chatter about my busy life laziness! I have been pleasantly surprised at how much use I've gotten out of the Naked 3; I'm not usually a pinks sort of girl there was something that keeps drawing me back again and again. Probably the glitter ;)

So lets start with Strange, at first glance this reminds me of Mac's brule although after closer inspection Urban Decays version is a tad lighter. I do really like this highlight-y colour for au-naturale, as it brightens up your eyes without to much shimmer. Now on to Dust, word of waring before you pack this one on, it has major fallout. That aside it is a gorgeous glittery shade to add some sparkle to your lids. Next is Burnout, possibly my most used shade in the entire palette, except not my favourite. It's the shadow I turn to when I've slept through my alarm several times and I have approximately 3 minutes to look slightly presentable! Limit is my base and blendy shade, when I get to heavy handed along the crease I turn to Limit to save my shadow. Although it's not exactly similar to my natural skin tone it is a great transition colour up to my brows. Okay, now Buzz, consistency wise it's very similar to dust, you'll need a swab of concealer under your eyes after use. Colour wise its perfect for deepening up the crease, especially added to burnout. It's my new favourite combo!! And then lastly {For the first half of the palette anyway} there's Trick. Now this is my absolute, positively favourite shade from the Naked 3. It's glittery, golden and perfect. A swish of this on the lower lash line and your eyes just come to life!

Alright Nooner,  I like it- but I don't love it. I used to think I needed more matte shadows in my life, but I've come to realise they often get used as a base and then after all the shimmery, glittery stuff goes on top it's hardly there anymore. And thats how it goes with Nooner, it just seems to get lost at the bottom. Liar and Factory go brilliantly together, liar smudged all aver the lid and factory blended through the crease. Now I want to interject now before I go any further and just say that, although I love this palette, I didn't really think the last four shades really fitted in with the the pastely pink affair. I would have loved to have seen some deeper and bolder pinks to fit into the theme, especially since I've got all three Naked palettes {as i'm sure many of you do to} and the end few shades seem a little to familiar. Having said that I still really like palette. Okay, that's my only complaint; I promise!! Mugshot is an 'all in one' sort of shade, you can apply it lightly, then a little heavier in the middle and finally deepen it up though the crease, perfect for those lazy days. Now I'm not going to lie, I haven't used Darkside more than once. It would definitely fit into my 'night outs' section, once i've survived a few weeks of uni I'm going to need one of those nights. So it'll get some use then! And lastly but most definitely not least theres Blackheart, at first glance this deep burgundy shade scared me a little. But then I saw a photo circling Facebook or some site suggesting that you smudge a darker eyeshadow in the lash bed it gives the effect of bolder eyes without using eyeliner. Now eyeliners not my forte so any chance to leave it out I will and by using Blackheart I've been able to. Thanks FB you've been helpful for once ;)

Whew, that's the entire Naked Three Palette covered! Has this edition to the naked series lived up to your standards? or is this still on your wish list?

Sydney so far.

Good morning everybody! Sorry for being so absent over the last few weeks; I've been trying to settle into this new life in Sydney and it's taking me so much longer than I thought it would to get myself organised {Seriously this moving thing is hard stuff! I never realised how many things I took for granted living at home}. However I have taken a few little breaks for myself to start exploring this gorgeous new city I call home!

Last week we took a trip to Bondi beach; famous for it's turquoise waters, half naked people and crazy waves. It was the perfect day to spend getting sand between our toes and spending far to long dunking under waves {although on my part there was no water frolicking- there may be a slight seaweed phobia going on over here!} Still, spending a day under the glorious sun reading a good book and being with friends- what more could you want from summer!

So I've picked up another resolution for this year. I'm going to have something to be happy about every single day. You know how some days it seems as if nothings going right and there isn't a thing in the world that can make you happy, just go out of your way to plan something to get your mind off the things that aren't going so great. Even if it as simple as making a cup of tea and take half an hour to yourself or planning to meet a friend after work for drinks, it doesn't seem like much but it's actually worked!

Continuing on with New years Resolutions so far I've kept to half of them {two out of four 'aint bad} In fact I've gone so well with the reading resolution that I think that counts for the bad blogging and lack of french speaking. Plus I've still got ten months to woo the sexy french men ;). I think I'm up to seven books so far; I probably only read that many in the last two years! But having so much free time has opened up a window to the books - even if they are falling apart and I have to read them page by page and sort them into separate piles. I'm sure the people who were watching me thought I was crazy. My favourite book so far has been Enlightenment for Beginners, I won't go into to much detail just incase you were planning on reading it- Which, even though I'm only half way through it, totally recommend picking it up! Its hilarious, heartfelt and has made me seriously consider taking up yoga. {If anyone knows any good yoga studios in Sydney let me know!}

And that's been my life in Sydney so far, although I didn't snap any photos of the bazillion packing boxes and my having to take makeup on the bedroom floor. Not such a glamorous life!!
