Weekly Favourites // Twenty-Nineth September

Alright, alright you can smack me I'm a day late with this weeks favourites! Although it is still Sunday night on the other side of the world so technically I'm only behind for half of you guys :) Yesterday I spent a bazillion {Okay, 10 but it felt like forever} hours sitting on my behind in the car; And even though I'd had a very healthy breakfast of two red bulls and half a bag of starbursts I could hardly keep my eyes open. Sorry!!

It was a cool 30 degrees for the last week in Sydney, so we made a trip to the beach in Wollongong. Every time I go back there it bring back childhood memories of the hours and hours we used to spend in the waves at little eight-year olds and refused to come out until we were like wrinkled prunes. Oh how times have changed HA! But all this gorgeous weather has gotten me so excited for summer that seems to be only just around the corner. Maybe I'll even venture out into the ocean this year :)

Oh yeah!! My little Mac palette is finally full. Besides my Sigma Paris palette {Which is only brought out on special occasions} this would have to be my most used, absolute favourite in my entire collection! The are almost all naturals, with the exception of one gorgeous berry colour. And as per usual the majority are full of shimmer, what is life with out a bit of shimmer hey!

And then lastly I've got a youtube favourite for you!! Louis is from England but probably spends more time overseas than at home. I'm quite envious of his high-flying lifestyle although I'd probably get home-sick rather quickly. He's a vlogger and usually uploads everyday so theres always something new to watch! You can find his channel here! Go check him out; I can guarantee you'll get as addicted to his Tarzan-esk nature as much as I am!!

Skydiving & Bulli Beach

So last Saturday morning I was planning on getting up and going to IMATS nice and early. But having made a desperate trip to a Max Brenner store an hour from our house at 11 O'Clock the night before all those plans went straight our the window{And I'm pretty glad they did. Apparently Saturday at IMATS was crazy, like pushing, shoving and people fighting over that last candy yum yum!} Instead I ended up down in Wollongong watching one of my childhood friends jump out of a plane! It was such a gorgeous morning that I was a little bit jealous, skydiving is definitely on my my bucket list of things to do before I die. It was so funny trying to work out who was who, everybody looked like tiny specks in the sky before plummeting, rather quickly I should add, to the ground. After composure was regained we made our way to breakfast at Bulli beach. It wasn't that exciting so no foodie photos but the beach was only a few steps away so we had a little wander while we waited for breakfast. I fall more and more in love with Sydney every single time I'm up here. Actually if everything falls into place I may be calling it home in 2014, but no promises yet!

Do you think you'd ever be brave enough to go skydiving? Or maybe you have, I'd love to know how it went and if theres any horror stories!!

Sydney IMATS '13

Woohoo, so IMATS has come and gone in a blink of an eye. I mentioned here how I was a little bit disappointed in how many stalls and brands that were there. But I still really enjoyed myself and spent wayyy to much $$. But if you didn't get the chance to go, don't worry, you can just re-live it vicariously through me! So my morning started off at 6AM!! I got ready, drank copious amounts of coffee before driving 45 minutes to Liverpool where I had to leave my car and catch a train to the city. Seriously the council must plan their track works around my holidays, every time I'm up I end up sitting on a damn bus with a psycho driver who seems to only want to make my motion sickness worse. I shan't digress but I made it to the city, quite successfully I might add.I only went the wrong way twice, spilt my coffee once and got harassed by a lady pushing a dog in a pram! When I finally made it to the Exhibition Centre it was only 11.30! I walked around twice before finally getting the courage to battle the swarms of people and push my way to a counter. I made a few purchases before heading out for lunch overlooking the gorgeous Darling Harbour. An hour and a few glasses of wine later I made my way back to the Exhibition Centre to watch Nicole Thompson work her magic. She spoke on mastering skin tones and textures, and besides a few interruptions from a rather ecstatic lady in the front row {If you were there you'll know what I'm on about} it was really informative and great to see how she works with all different skin types and ages. Once that was over I jetted straight back to the station to start the trek home and a few hours later here I am sitting in my pyjamas and ugg boots with a massive bowl of cookies 'n' cream ice-cream. It's funny how different those two worlds are, anyway I shall share everything I brought in the next few weeks so look forward to that!

Weekly Favourites // Twenty-Second September

It's another short and sweet one for you guys this week! Sorry. But my brain is not working properly even though I've had an unmentionable number of coffees today. All this catching trains stuff is flippin' exhausting. So I'm in Sydney, I've been to the city three times in the last four days and I have to go again tomorrow {Screw you dutch consulate, I swear I've never wanted to punch someone more in my life!!!}. But the plus side to being in the city almost everyday is all the shopping, and I've been doing a lotta' shopping.

Since I've been spending far more time away from the house I'm trying to eat better breakfasts. A coffee just won't cut it when your out and about all day. This was some sort of museli-berry-yougurt thing that looked amazing and tasted not so. But it kept me full all day so thats one plus.

Yep. This is me, five hours into the drive. Excuse the makeup less face, why bother when all your going to do is sit in a car for 1500km and stuff your face with Maccas more times than acceptable. {It was only three time's and once was just a coffee, I swear!!}

Speaking of coffee, I had forgotten how much I've missed having Starbucks around. Maybe its just the cups but something about holding a Venti Latte just makes you look so much more sophisticated.

Woohoo, now it's time for the good stuff. IMATS was one of the main reasons I came up to Sydney. One part of me is really glad that I did and the other a little disappointed. I think that I'd gotten my hopes up after seeing all the other shows and how amazing they were, even though people had said that it wasn't as good the optimistic side of me kept saying it would be. It was still a great experience and being around people who love makeup as much as I do was pretty fun. I'd probably go back again next year but I won't be getting to excited. Having said that I still really enjoyed it, picked up quite a few goodies and learnt a thing or two from Nicole Thompson, MAC's senior Artist. So I'll be doing a few posts on that in the coming weeks.

And thats that. Another week done and dusted. Hopefully the next one does't go as fast! I swear your only need to blink for a second and it'll be christmas already. Whaaat!!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner.

When it comes to eyeliner I used to stay well clear. I think i'm still scarred from high school when thick, black panda eyes were 'cool'. Since then I have slowly been giving eyeliner a little more attention, sans the panda eyes. I know I'm months, possibly years late but the Rimmel Scandaleyes collection has been a great re-entry into the eyeliner world. The formula is super creamy, it glides on with amazing precision and has insane lasting power.Don't be expecting this to be smudging any time soon. Sparkling Black is absolutely packed with silver glitter, it almost has a slate-ish tone to it with the amount of glitter it has! Its a great night out liner that will definitely draw some attention to your eyes! Taupe is a great natural looking liner, if your not a fan of dark eyes, this is great just to give a bit more definition to open up your eyes and give them that extra pop. Bronze is my favourite by far. There's no secret that anything gold makes me go all tingly inside and bronze is pretty close to gold so no surprise that I fell in love. It's perfect for smudging out to give a smokey effect or just thinly lining to give some extra depth. If you like adding eyeshadow on your lover lash line this is a great substitute.

So if you haven't already, and chances are you have, but if your a little slow of the mark as I often am go grab a couple of these a give them a whirl!

Weekly Favourites // Fifteenth September

It's just a little favourites post this week. I've been working like a crazy lady and since I'm going on holidays on Tuesday I haven't had a day off!
Speaking of holidays I've attempted to start packing already. Emphasis on attempted!  My room literally looks like someones robbed a store and dumped to contents on my bed! And my poor cupboard is so empty its almost sad to look at! But forty kilos, three bags and several re-packs later I think its almost done. Its a good thing I'm driving up, I'll probably be spending less on petrol than excess luggage fees !

If your a Kardashian addict like I am {Absolutely no shame in admitting it, they are freaking fabulous} you may have noticed one of the younger girls friends Pia. She has the most insanely amazing voice; Seriously the first time I listened to her I got goosebumps!! She's often goes under the name princesspiamia and is absoloutely everywhere, Instagram, Youtube, Keek, Soundcloud!  So theres definitely no excuse not to go check her out :)

As much as I love candles, and trust me I do, sometimes the smells can become to overpowering in my little room. I'd need to keep the windows open 24/7 just to get some relief and with Tasmania's crazy weather thats just no possible. So I've invested in a scent free, smoke free, wax free, boring old white candle. And you know what, I've actually just been enjoying having the ambiance of flickering lights on the walls without having to freak about spilling the wax {Done many times, my carpet has the proof-  also my walls!}  I dare say I'll be sick of it soon enough but for now it's great!

And thats it, short and sweet! I think by my next post I'll be up in gorgeous Sydney, or at least making my way up. I have several sneaky Maccas stops planned to steal internet and stuff my face with hotcakes! I'm thinking of doing a running blogpost all day, just to update you on where I am and to get my mind off the bazillion hours I'll be spending driving that day. What do you think ??

Glam Your Life | DIY Jewellery Stand

I’ll be the first person to admit that anything that requires more than a few minutes to put together and any sort of carpentry tools I run the other way. Very, very fast. But since I'm on a spending ban until IMATS I'm trying to entertain myself without spending to much $$. So on that note I've decided to start 'Doing it Myself' and after this rather successful first attempt I think it will become more of a regular thing!

So if you want to try your luck at making your own jewelry stand {It’s super easy, trust me, if I can do it you definitely can!} heres what your going to need for one stand:

-Two candle holders or little wine glasses,
- Three plates, all different sizes to give the tiered effect,
- Spray paint in whatever colour you want,
- Any sort of super glue you can get your hands on,
- Lots and lots of newspaper!

First of all cover your entire area with newspaper, although I still managed to get gold paint all over the deck. Whoopsies!! Then go crazy with whatever colour paint you want, I went with classic white and gold!

{Heres what I ended up with, I got a little bit excited so I made two!}

Once you've finished with the spray paint mania let it sit and dry for a few hours, or if you have the time leave it overnight. After everything is dry grab some super strong glue, I pinched some industrial strength stuff out of my dads  shed and I don't think its going anywhere! Then start sticking everything together, to make sure its perfectly centred get a ruler and put a little mark in the centre otherwise its gonna look a little wonky. Let it dry for another few hours and voila! You can now brag about how creative you are :D
