Lets catch up shall we ?!

// This photo is off my instagramfeel free to check it out if you wish! //

Hi everyone!! It's time for a catch up I think :)
Sorry for being so absent the last few weeks, I know I've barely been scraping through with posts and they are a little sub-par when they do finally make it up. Life can just be shit sometimes and there's really no other way of putting it! I shan't go into to much detail but someone who holds a massive place in my heart is going through some really tough times at the moment. It's so hard watching someone that you love so much going through something that you can't help with. As much as we listen, pray, beg and try to comprehend why its happening I don't think anyone will ever be able to fully understand why some things affect people so much more than others! Anyway stress levels are through the roof and I've got an ugly fat lip to prove it! All that aside I have got a whole bunch of photos just waiting to be put into posts!!! I'll let you in on a few of the more exiting ones which may or may not be popping up in the next few weeks! Erm, My Mac eyeshadow palette was finally filled last month so you'll get to see that in action! I've also got a few makeup bits and bobs floating around, Oh and another DIY that I am literally dying to tell you all about!!

And thats all I'm letting slip!! I hope your all having an amazing day on whichever part of the globe you call home

lots of love,

The dry shampoo debacle!

Dry Shampoo has quickly become an everyday essential to most hair conscious ladies, especially if you've got a whole 'lotta hair washing it everyday can be a great pain in the behind! Thats where this miracle in a can comes in. But which can is the best?!? I've picked out my three favourites to help you find the perfect fit for your locks :)

First up is my favourite, the Tony&Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo it's the one I always go back to and stock up on endlessly whenever its on sale! This was the first ever dry shampoo that I tried, only about a year ago I think. I've always been so happy with how it leaves my hair feeling afterwards, its not overly drying but you can feel that is soaked up all those excess oils. The smell is another big reason I keep going back. It doesn't have a specific scent like some can have, it's more of a fresh -I just visited the salon kinda smell. Plus its not too overpowering and doesn't linger for to long. This is also my top volumizing spray. It works really well for giving that effortlessly messy look that people like Lilly Melrose do so well and it gives a lotta, lotta volume to most hair types {i.e I've tried it on me, my sister and my best friend. My sister has thick, My Best friend has fine and I have fine but a whole shitload of hair and it worked really well on all of us!!}  One bottle does usually last at least a month but I do use a fair bit. The only down side is it's sortof on the pricier side of things at $15.99 for 250ml BUT most of the time it will be on sale somewhere!! Usually two for twenty which is completely justifiable :)

Right then, now onto Batiste. I don't know about you but this is the first image that pops to mind when someone mentions this holy grail product. Maybe it's the pretty packaging or the fact the its at the end of every single makeup isle, but whatever their doing its obviously working. I've received one full size and a teeny tiny sample sized bottle, both in the scent Blush and both in beauty subscription boxes. Even though I really enjoyed using it I was glad to get back to the ole' favourite and for one reason only. The smell!! It's probably personal preference but I found it to be so overpoweringly {Is that a word?!?} strong, almost reminiscent of the perfume you brought at about 8 years old. Remember that one in the unusually bright bottle that was just like a punch in the face of fruit and flowers that you thought was amazing but drove people away!! Yeah, thats what it reminds me of because the scent lingers all day, you can't wear a subtle perfume because it'll get lost! Okay smell-rant over, besides that one tiny flaw it works really well. It gets rid of everything you want it to and lasts all day, even onto the next day you won't have to use as much to get your hair looking fresh. The other thing that I really like is that they have such a variety for all different hair types! If I were to pick this up again I'd probably go get the little mini sized one. It was perfect to have laying around the back seat or in your handbag. The smaller one is 50ml and retails for $4.99 whereas the larger is 200ml and sells for $9.99! And it lasts for ages, like months!

And lastly we have little old Cedel for Dark Hair! My Aunty had been recommending this one to me for aaaaages before I finally got around to trying it. I really love that it doesn't leave me with that greyish tone to my roots that some others can if you get a bit to close but it gets a little messy. I don't know if I just keep getting faulty cans but they always manage to get a bit of leakage and cover the nozzle with brown goop! Which is fine once its dry you can just brush it off but it can be a pain if it gets on your hands. That aside I really like the formula, for such a little can it packs a bit of punch and can get right into your roots! It probably doesn't last as long as the other two but it does the job quite well. Smell wise its pretty good as well, it's slightly chemically but goes away fairly quickly so you don't have to put up with it for long. I've just realised that this is actually the most expensive volume to dollar wise!! You only get 70ml for your $7.99 which is a bit excessive but worth it you need a good dark haired fix!

And thats that! Let me know what your favourite dry shampoo is or if you've tried one of these how did you find it ??? :)

Weekly Favourites // Thirteenth October

Woohoo, I finally made a Weekly favourites on time!! 1/3 'aint bad right !?! This week has been crappy! It's been cold and wet and rainy and horrible. Mother nature I think you've got the continents mixed up, it's supposed to be Summer over on this side of the hemisphere. So all I've wanted to do is curl up in my covers and spend all day in bed!

See! I'm not lying. This weather is insane!! I know I shouldn't be complaining, but really we've already put up with this for far to many months for it to be acceptable any more! Plus you can't even wear ugg boots without fear of getting soggy feet :(

Cold weather means woollen socks are a necessity. Although I wear them year round the cold weather means I can wear them out of the house with a little bit less shame!

Mandatory coffee shot; I braved the crazy weather and sought refuge in our local tea house, Jam&Bread. Seriously brilliant food and amazing coffee, and I don't say that lightly. Brilliant stuff!!!

Sorry for such a wishy-washy post! My minds all over the place and I know thats not an excuse but forgive me if things don't make sense or it's a little bit all over the place for a while!! I promise it wont be forever :)

Weekly Favourites // Sixth October

Two Days Late!! Tutt Tutt Amy, your getting a little slack now aren't you!!
I'm sorry, but better late than never right ?!? This week hasn't been very exciting. I'm back at work and going like a trooper. Theres only 76 days {Not that i'm counting or anything} till I am officially unemployed and I can't wait! That also means that Christmas is just around the corner. Whaaaat!! I'm seriously considering ditching presents this year and just buying myself a big fat gold watch! Why not I say HA! So a fairly mundane bunch of fav's this week, I've been loving nature and food. Plus a lovely you-tuber thrown in the mix as well. Enjoy!

I went from a lovely 30 degress in Sydney to what I swear was about 3 when I arrived back home! Thanks for the shit welcome home present Tassie ;)

But on the plus side you have pulled out a few gorgeous sunsets! I guess that sort of makes up for dodgy weather :)

Now when they said these were mini burgers, they bloody well weren't kidding. They were only two mouthfuls at best but so tasty and rather cute :)

And then a sneaky croissant for breakfast. It was so freaking good, like heaven in your mouth. If this is what Paris tastes like I'm moving there!!!

Lastly I have a youtuber favourite as well! I've been watching Ainsley for about six months now. She is a gorgeous fellow Aussie who has such amazing enthusiasm and love for life! Ainsley does plenty of beauty related videos which always brighten my day when they pop up! She just celebrated her first year on youtube which is so exciting so go check her out :)

And thats it, lots of love till next week {in five days, whoopsie}

Milk Skincare!

I’ll be the fist to admit that I’m not up to par with my skincare. I love makeup and everything that comes with it, but when it comes to removal I’m not so enthusiastic. If I can get away with just using a face wipe and some moisturizer so be it. However I am trying to be more skin friendly because this young skin won’t last forever after all!! I'd never really heard of the brand Milk before, I'm assuming it's relatively new because Priceline have just started stocking it down here. But then again I may be wrong and it could have been around for yonks! The first thing that drew my eye was that it's made here in Australia. I'm a big stickler for buying local-ish, supporting our own country and all that jazz. It's also 95% naturally made, although when I looked at the ingredients there was still some alcohol derived bits in there, but I'm no scientist so they may still be good for you! The other thing that caught my eye was the cool shaped bottles. I thought that they would look a little bit funky and different next to my other products in the shower. The one thing I wasn't counting on was having to squeeze the living daylights to get a smidge of the moisturiser out- And thats when the bottles full, I'm worried about what I'll have to do when I get towards the end, scissors will probably have to get involved. Other than that I have no complaints !!

Lets start with the face cleanser shall we? Woah, that was the first thing that came to mind. The scent of citrus is so strong, not overpoweringly strong but just a really nice wake-me-up strong scent. Perfect to use in the shower of a morning! I love the way it leaves my skin feeling as well. It doesn't give that tight feel but just really refreshed and cleansed. Like what most cleansers say they do, but you end up just feeling exactly the same after as before. And did I mention the smell !?! SO, so amazing!!

The Moisturiser on the other hand wasn't as impressive! Don't get me wrong its still a nice product, but the bottle doesn't really give it the justice it deserves. You have to shake it around a whole lot just to get a tiny bit out. But you do only need a tiny bit because it goes a very long way. I's definitely use this as more of a night time moisturiser as it takes a fair bit of effort to get it all soaked up and it leaves your skin a little greasy, which is fine by me if your going to sleep it off anyway!!

And then theres the body scrub. It's pretty straight forward- Squeeze, Scrub, Rinse, Repeat. It smells alright, just a little to herby for my liking but the scent really doesn't linger for long enough to make it a problem! The actually scrubby bits in it work well to get rid of some of that ol' dead skin and leave you feeling refreshed, after all thats what it's supposed to do right!

I'm not sure if I'd rush out to re-purchase these, but whilst I was away I noticed that the supermarkets stocked a male-only version of this so I may have to get my brother to test it out for me!
