Glam Your Life // DIY Coconut Coffee Scrub

The humble coffee scrub has definitely been doing the rounds on the beauty circuit over the last few months! It seems like theres a new formulation or brand popping up every time I open my browser each claiming to do better than the last. Using a scrub- particularly a coffee scrub can help your pretty pins in so many ways; Ground coffee can help increase blood flow and stimulate the skin helping with cellulite and stretch marks, Coconut Sugar {Or any type of coarse sugar for that matter} can help out in smoothing your lumps and bumps and the Coconut oil helps to leave your skin smooth after use! Now I'm a self confessed scrubber, I love how gorgeous and smooth your body feels after but the only downfall with our new found love for scrubbing in the shower is the price. I'm yet to find a decent scrub that is under $15; so instead of giving away my hard earned pennies to a big corporation why not make your own!?! It's super easy and your get far more scrub for your money.

For a coconut and coffee scrub all you have to do is melt 1/4 of a cup of coconut oil in the microwave until it goes clear, let it sit for a few minutes until it comes back down to room temperature. Then add 1/2 a cup of ground coffee, 1/2 a cup of coconut sugar or brown sugar whichever is easier for you to find and a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Mix it all together and your done! It's that easy, if you feel like switching it up a bit try adding a few drops of peppermint essence, some orange rind or even the insides of a vanilla bean- the possibilities are endless :)

Find a nice jar or reuse and old candle pot like i've done! This would be an amazing present to give to a friend or family member, just add a round of cloth to the top and secure it with a pretty ribbon. And don't forget to include a scoop; I'm pretty sure you can find miniature spade on ebay somewhere, you could even give this to a friend who really enjoyed gardening with a few flowers sprouting out from the top... right Amy calm down your bordering on weird now ha! Let me know what your favourite scrub is or if you've ever made your own :)
