So last week I wrote a post on the lovely brand Shanghai Suzy, and the gorgeous lipsticks that they've brought out. If you haven't read that you are more than welcome to pop over and check it out, no pressure! But if you just want a sneak peak of the swatches keep on scrolling. I was battling with the poopie weather over the weekend, it always seems like a beautiful day until I pull my camera out and the clouds just seem to swoop in and ruin the lighting; never the less I managed to edit the shit brighten them up a little so the colours were closer to the real bullets.
(Top-Bottom; Miss Amy- Baby Pink, Miss Sophia- Lilac, Miss Simone- Baby Coral, Miss Maxima- Burnt Orange.)
Lets start with the lighter shades shall we!? Miss Amy- who doesn't love a baby pink shade, I certainly do, especially when its got such a beautiful name ;) That aside Miss Amy has a gorgeous rich texture that is super smooth and as bright as a baby pink can get. I've found it works best for me just dabbed on gently to give an almost sheer tint to the lips, perfect for a quick trip to the shops or an impromptu lunch with the girls.
Miss Sophia- is probably my favourite out of the entire autumn range. It's quite similar to Miss Amy but has a deeper blue undertone which gives it its lilac tones. It is the easiest day time lipstick that I have ever come across as it can be applied straight from the bullet without looking messy. I've been keeping this one tucked away in my uni bag for the last few weeks and more often than not find myself mindlessly reaching for it as I come screeching through the gates because with two minutes till class starts, as I know it will do the job!
Miss Simone- has a peachy coral tone and would be perfect for afternoons spent lounging around under the sun. I haven't really used it that much- maybe if I spent a few weeks in Bora bora soaking up the sun it would suit me a bit better but with my pale winter skin looming Little Miss Simone has been popped at the back of my cupboard for safe keeping in anticipation for the summer months.
Miss Maxima- given that the winter months are quickly coming upon us a beautiful burnt orange is almost essential. Miss Maxima is smooth, creamy and has the perfect mix of deep red and orange-y tones. I remind me so much of Illamasqua's Liable, which was one of my first ever matte lipsticks but with a much smoother formula. If I am taking trip into the city I'll match this beauty up with a dark trench coat, a floppy hat and a big, thick scarf!
(Top-Bottom; Miss Sarah Jane- Neon Coral, Miss Tegan- Cherry, Miss Melissa- Hot Pink, Miss Kitty- Black Plum.)
Now onto the darker shades of the collection; Miss Sarah-Jane: is the perfect summer colour, Neon Coral and bright as can be. I can imagine myself wearing this under the sun at a music festival; with the music pumping, squashed into a mosh pit but with the perfect pout!
Miss Tegan- is a beautiful beginners cherry red, with more of a orange undertone than your average red lipstick. This brightens it up and definitely makes it more wearable during the daytime, especially if your new to bright colours but still want to add a pop of colour to your face without looking to intense.
Miss Melissa- When they called this lipstick 'Hot pink' they weren't beating around the bush. It is one of the boldest and most vibrant pinks in my collection. Miss Melissa isn't something that I would reach for every day but for those special occasions where you want to look ultra sexy or just needed a boost in confidence this would be my pick!
Miss Kitty-I have to admit, deep plum colours aren't my cup of tea. I've tried a few and have never been able to find one that suits me. I really love the way Miss Kitty swatches and how gorgeous she looks in the bullet but I can just never manage to get it look good on my face. However my sister, who got blessed with the olive skin tone, borrowed this a few weeks ago and it looked smashing on her. I'm sorry Miss Kitty it's not you with the issues- its me!
Oh la la, what a delicious selection of lipsticks to choose from! So in the spirit of lovely lips I've decided to do a little giveaway for my beautiful viewers.
