All you need is a 'Light Touch'

I was going through my makeup collection this morning and tucked under some old palettes was this beauty. MAC's Light Touch is a pressed pigment that packs some serious glittery punch! I really don't use this shadow as much as I should, it's probably not something that you would wear during the day if your just running errands or popping out for lunch with friends but that make's it perfect for nights out! It has a stunning rose-gold champagney tint to it but once it gets to your lids it doesn't really transfer that colour per say it kinda just takes on whatever shade you have on already and enhances that to another level of glittery-ness and will add some serious sparkle to any look! It can be used dry or damp which is another brilliant thing, i've always stuck to using it dry- there's something about using a damp brush just doesn't seem right. I think i'll just have to suck it up and give it a try. The only downfall of Light Touch is the fallout; which is completely understandable given that it is a pressed pigment and not your average shadow. So just make sure you have a tissue ready to catch the fall out or start with your eyes and finish with base so you don't end up with glitter down your face. I've seen some other lovely bloggers use this as a highlighter; I don't think i'm quite that brave! The only other thing is that I found this to be quite similar to Honey Lust in the glitter-y department, just a little less loose. If I had to choose one or the other I think I would have to go with Honey Lust for practicality reasons- it fits into a palette and you don't have to go digging around for it each time you use it. But having said that if you go with Light Touch you get double the amount of product for only a few dollars more! Such a hard choice!!

Have you tried any of MAC's pressed pigments? Did they live up to your expectations??

  1. That looks LOVELY. I have been on the hunt for something like that actually...I really like Urban Decay's 'Half Baked', another shimmery gold color, but that is of course just a shadow. I have never bought a MAC pressed pigment before...or anything from MAC really...but I desperately want to give their products a go since they look so wonderful. xx

    1. I love love love half baked!! It's the only colour on my naked palettes that's hit pan! If you want to try out a mac shadow that's kinda similar I'd suggest Honey Lust or Naked Lunch. Both gorgeous shimmery shadows :)

    1. I'm going to have to try it out; I'm just a little worried that it's going to turn out a little to grain-y and not very smooth!!
